Shell Island can be crowded during peak hours. But if you go at the right moment, you will find many shells. If you're lucky enough to go, the Panama City beaches will be awash with shells. You can find a lot of shells if you go in the morning, when the tide is low.

It is worth the effort once you reach it. This is some of my favorite water spots. It's almost like swimming in a pool. We were unsure what to expect so we decided to spend some time on the island. Expect to spend the whole day there!

The fish aren't going to touch you. They will just circle you and take a look. I can't count how many times I have put my snorkel on and looked underneath the water to find loads of fish next to people just standing in the water. They won't bite!
