The shallows around Shell Island, St. Andrews Bay, are breathtaking. Bring your snorkeling gear and you'll see incredible sights in the Gulf. A good underwater camera is a must-have to capture stunning images that you and your friends will enjoy.
What should you bring? The majority of what you need is available onboard, but you have the option to bring anything. We recommend bringing a towel and polarized sunglasses, as well as a sweater or jacket. Because the open-air boat and breeze makes it more comfortable to be on the water than in the land, it's always cooler. You can also bring your own snacks or drinks. BYOB allowed.
We sometimes get a chance to swim and snorkel with dolphins if the conditions are safe and favorable for that. They are wild dolphins and do have a mind of their own. We do not feed or harass dolphins. This is why we do not guarantee any swimming with dolphins. We follow and support regulations and guidelines set forth by the Marine Mammal Protection Act on all our boat tours.
Since years, Shell Island has been popular with boaters, tourists, and everyone in between. It has been there since the 1800s when the county was founded. The island's length is 7 miles and the waters are bursting with life. While on your Dolphin Tour, look out for seashells and watch for Bottlenose dolphins. Panama City Beach is an amazing place to visit on your next family vacation.
The Adventures At Sea guides will take you on a tour of Shell Island, showing you the home of one the largest schools in the world of bottlenose dolphins. We are familiar with all the favorite spots they like to hide, and where they show their pride.
Swim with Panama Citys resident pod of wild bottle-nosed dolphins in their natural home on your trip aboard super-fast boats specially designed for finding and visiting with the dolphins. Unlike the larger tour boats that carry up to 150 people, Blue Dolphin Tours carries only 6 passengers on some boats & 7-15 on other boats (children of all ages included). We can have you in the water with your snorkel gear on quickly and without all the splashing and disruptions that large groups create, often frightening the dolphins away.
While looking for wildlife and other sea life, we cruise around Shell Island, Panama City Beach, St. Andrews Bay, Panama City and the surrounding waters. Every day, we get to see different types of wildlife on our boat tours. Every day is different for snorkeling and dolphin tours, depending on the wildlife and conditions. Our routes change daily to ensure you have the best dolphin tour possible and a pleasant boat ride. We also adjust to weather conditions and wildlife to make sure that we offer the most enjoyable experience. Shell Island's marine life, snorkeling spots and stops change from one tour to the next. This is great as you will see new things every time you travel with us. If you have any requests for specific items or activities you'd like to see on your boat tour, we encourage you to let the captain know.
