Vertical Lifts have two sections: 1) The Movement Section, also known as the extractor or elevator, and 2) The Storage Section. This horizontal and vertical movement makes vertical facility space more efficient without the use of mezzanines, manlifts, or forklifts. Vertical lift systems allow for floor space savings of 70-90%. They also improve safety and ergonomics. Vertical storage systems can make it easier to increase productivity by reducing the use of peripheral handling equipment, as well as reducing the time spent searching for inventory or walking around looking for it.
Vertical lift modules, or VLMs, are secured with an automated door to protect stock from theft and dust exposure. VLMs do not allow access to the system without authorization and barcode verification.
