After many years of watching dolphins in their natural habitats, our guides are skilled at locating them and safely instructing our guests how to enter the water to see them. You will be accompanied by your captain to snorkel alongside starfish, pufferfishes, welch cones, sanddollars and other sea creatures.

Your captain will show you the best way to enter the water and see the dolphins up close. It is against the law to reach out to dolphins or swim towards them. The best way to interact with dolphins is to swim parallel with them, and then let them come towards you.

We practice what we call “passive observation,” which means — in simple terms — that we let the dolphins come to us. It was a great time. Captain was amazing. The captain even showed us a jelly fish that doesn’t sting. We stopped at a shell island with lots of shells. We had a great time and we will be back.
On your trip with Blue Dolphin Tours, you will be able to swim with Panama City’s resident pods of wild bottlenosed dolphins. These boats are super fast and specifically designed for meeting with the dolphins. Blue Dolphin Tours does not carry more than 150 people. Instead, we can take six passengers on some boats and seven to fifteen on other boats. This includes children of all ages. Your snorkel gear and you can be in the water within minutes. We don't need to cause any disturbances or splashing, which can sometimes scare the dolphins. Your Captain is Your Guide - Your captain will help you learn how to interact well with dolphins. Swim with Dolphins. - You'll be able to swim in the ocean before the dolphins arrive. Dolphins are more likely not to swim away from us if we do this. See wildlife such as birds, pelicans, aquatic creatures and herons. Shells, sand dollars, and other treasures can be found on Shell Island. Snorkel the flats of grass and discover St. Andrews Bay.
It was a great time. Christian, our captain, was great. Our group included children from 2 years to 81 years of age. Everyone had a lot of fun. We were able to touch a jellyfish from a cannonball, saw dolphins and went on a boat ride to Shell Island. Christo was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Christo was our captain and we will be returning. Lagoon Pontoons' booking staff was very friendly and easy to deal with. They were able to answer all our questions and offer suggestions on how to accommodate toddlers and seniors. 5 stars!! !
We had a wonderful trip! Christian, our captain, was an outstanding leader. We had everyone have fun, from children as young as 2 years old to those who are 81 years. We got to see dolphins, touched a jellyfish made of cannonballs, went to Shell Island and enjoyed the boat ride. Christo was extremely polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. Christo is our captain. Snorkeling is a fun and easy activity for people of all ages. One of the best things about Shell Island is that the calm shallow water behind the jetty is ideal for first-time snorkelers.
When is the Best Time to Visit Florida to See Dolphins? The best time to see dolphins is from late May to early August. You're most likely to see them between 10 a.m. and noon, and then again between 2 p.m. and dark.
