The St. Andrews State Park jetty is a good spot for snorkeling, as well as Shell Island. There are many habitats available, including sand bottoms, shallow grass flats and the rocky faces of the jetties. There are many species of fish and crabs to be seen, as well as rays and, if you're lucky enough, some resident bottle nose dolphins. Renting snorkel equipment at the Jetty Store is an option, as well as purchasing it in a complete package with shuttle tickets on a Shell Island Snorkel Tour.
Turn onto North Lagoon as if you were headed to Captain Anderson's. After the turn you will continue past their parking lot AND past the Lighthouse Marina. We will then be on the right hand side underneath the trees/down a gravel road. There will be signs out front with our company name.
This 3 hour tour was amazing! Captain made sure we saw the dolphins and even took us over the top of a shipwreck! Snorkeling on Shell Island was super fun and the kids loved it. Highly recommended for everyone no matter your age.

Shell Island is seven miles of undeveloped scenery between the Gulf and St. Andrew Bay. At one point, Shell Island was inhabited by Native Americans, Spanish Settlers, and even pirates.
Once you get there it is all worth it, as it is the most beautiful water I've ever seen. It is like you are swimming in a pool. It is so crystal clear. We didn't know what to expect so we went planning to spend a few hours on the island. Come expecting to spend all day!

This island is not as secluded as you see on the pictures and we couldn't find any of the cool shells either. (I understand that it's nature and can't be controlled).
