Over a decade ago, we became Open Water Scuba Instructors by the Professional Association of Dive Instructors. We have completed over 200 dives. We have been active teachers in Arizona, Florida and Mexico since then. After becoming independent instructors, we were both able earn the PADI Master Scuba Diver Instructor rating in less than one year. We also teach several specialties. Each year, we average more than 150 dives. Our dives usually last more than an hour.
The new SDI/TDI Sidemount Diver Program is more than a book about sidemount diving. This comprehensive, complete set of materials is designed to help you learn and teach sidemount diving.
Sidemount Pros will supply your sidemount harness and all hardware necessary to set up your side mounts cylinders. If you are interested in purchasing the equipment, you can have it customized for you by Sidemount Pros during your course.
We wanted to give you, our students, some additional information about how to become a technical diving instructor and cave diving instructor. It is not always an easy task. Both of us have chosen to go through the difficult process of becoming technical diving and cave diving instructors.
This course covers the equipment and skills for technical sidemount diving including both classroom workshops and three days of in-water skills development.
Tech Sidemount skills are: gas management, gas switching and staged ascents. Vale drills.
Youll learn about the advantages of diving with a sidemount configuration and how to set up a tec sidemount harness. Youll get hands-on training during one confined water session and four open water dives where youll start with two tanks and add at least two more, maybe even getting to six side-mounted cylinders.
