The lack of asking questions and exploring all options can stop you from progressing in safety and learning more about diving. I have studied your online courses for two years and counting. I have trained and practiced muscle memory, but more importantly, I have never been afraid to tell others if they ask. It is amazing how they see the world in a better light. I want to mention that during my 2 years of training, you were always kind enough and willing to answer any questions or offer suggestions for improvement. You have the opportunity to ask questions, share your knowledge, teach others, and learn. No stupid questions are acceptable in diving. I'm certain I will ask another question in the future! Lol
You must know this is a common sentiment, but I do really appreciate your online videos. I have been able use them to setup my sidemounts much more efficiently, and I am able to diagnose issues with students and quickly fix them. I would like to thank you for all that.
Your online videos are amazing. I know you understand this. They have helped me to set up my sidemount much easier. I also found it much easier to diagnose and fix student problems. That's why I want to say thank you.

Steve, just wanted you to know how much we appreciate your online Sidemount PCB course. I was unable to complete my PADI sidemount PCB training because my XDeep harness system wasn't working the way I wanted. Although the instructor was very knowledgeable, I could tell that he wasn't a true sidemounter. I had signed up for your free online course which was great, but... read onSteve, I wanted to thank your amazing online Sidemount PCB class. I was unable to get my PADI sidemount PCB training done last year because my XDeep harness system wasn't as streamlined as I needed it to be. Although the instructor was very knowledgeable, it was clear that he didn’t live and breathe sidemount. I had signed up for your course, which was great but didn't give me enough. I am going to Florida to complete my Overhead Environment training. I wanted to make sure my skills were up to date. After viewing your entire online course, WOW! Your suggestions were invaluable in helping me rebuild my XDeep bungee harness. Your instructions helped me rebuild my entire bungee system. I also redid my attachment points and wing. I now feel like my setup is right and I'm very comfortable in the water. I want to thank you once again. Next, I want to master all my skills. This is easier because my harness is correctly set up. Wish I had spent the money to get your training a full year ago. Take care and keep the updates coming. Thanks, Jason read less

Steve, I just stumbled upon the new chapters that you have added to your online courses. They are great. They are especially useful when searching for a specific part of a video or reviewing them. They were easy to use and I started using them immediately after I saw them. Timo, a big thank you!
Sidemount PCB staging: This is where the diver is setting up cylinders with tank straps, bungee, clips and special valves (left and right-handed). and is the practice of using sidemount configuration (bungee loops and/or butt-plate rails) as a means for stowing stage/deco cylinders in a streamlined manner against the sides of the torso, when otherwise diving in back-mounted doubles or CCR
Although I've never attempted sidemount, after studying his online training I knew that Steve was the right man to guide me and make sure I succeed. I was right! It was truly a life-changing week! Sidemount PCB Essentials exceeded my expectations. Steve is a great teacher. He's patient and takes time to explain sidemount. I have never tried it before, but after watching his online video training, knew that Steve was the best man to guide me through it. I was correct! It was truly a life-changing week! Sidemount PCB Essentials exceeded my expectations. Steve is a great teacher. He is patient and gives his time to all of his students. Every step is carefully planned. It was memorable and rewarding. Sidemount PCB Essentials Course has changed the way I dive. I was amazed at how quickly my awareness and skills levels under water increased. Everything is in place: the harness, the weight and position of the swimmers, the cylinder trim and the balance in the water. This allows you to feel confident and relaxed. Although the course was quite challenging, it was extremely enjoyable. Every day began with a planning session, followed by a video review on our drills in the sea. Every time we got in the water, we had to drain our cylinders. That's why our learning curve was so steep! All of it was done with exceptional professionalism in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. Steve is a great instructor and I recommend this course. Steve will guide you to greatness if you are passionate about Sidemount PCB. read less
A typical diver, at a typical depth, with a typical tank
Based on personal experience, an average open-water certified diver on a 40-foot dive with a standard aluminum 80-cubic-foot tank will be able to stay down for 45 to 60 minutes before surfacing with a safe reserve of air still in the tank.
2-3 hours
Even with small cylinders, you can usually dive for 2-3 hours (rebreathers typically have two 2/3l cylinders or one 3/5l cylinder).
You must be a PADI Open Water Diver to enroll in the PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver course, but you must also be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver to become a PADI Advanced Rebreather Diver. Have at least 30 dives under your belt.
