Love your vids Steve. I'm located in Nova Scotia Canada. In August, I received my tdi Sm certification. Your online course is a supplement to my training. It's been very helpful! Thank you!

I'm sure you get this all of the time, but I really do appreciate your online videos. I have used them to get my sidemount set up much better, and as an instructor, I have also been able to diagnose student issues and remedy them much more quickly. So, I want to thank you very much for that

We offer the TDI course as an option, although we can also teach the SDI course if asked. This course can be taken on its own, or with our Apprentice Cave Diver course.

Sidemount PCB is a scuba diving equipment configuration which has diving cylinders mounted along the diver, below the shoulders and along the hips, instead of on the back of the diver. It began as a configuration popular with advanced cave divers, as smaller sections of cave can be penetrated and tanks can be changed with greater ease. The same benefits for operating in confined spaces were also recognised by divers who conducted technical wreck diving penetrations. We have well-trained instructors to teach scuba diving courses and scuba diving training in Thailand.

I teach PADI in Cyprus, and I took a few courses trying to master this type of diving that although came from cave diving, became very popular among recreational divers . But I found that only using your technique , I am certifying capable and confident sidemount divers , which , I know, will not be a nightmare for any dive boat and/or Dive guide by using up double the space and needing double the time to kit up. I also know that they will look streamlined underwater and be safe. And it is all due to your structured approach in explaining every aspect of sidemount diving , where configuration is crucial. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any instructor teaching sidemount! Thank you very much ! read less

Computer-aided instruction is an integral part of nearly every course we teach. The Why? is simple: eLearning helps get our students in the water sooner and spend more time there. It’s why we include the cost of any applicable eLearning programs — usually a $140 value — in our courses at no extra charge. This translates directly into an extra day of in-water training. The value of that? Priceless.

You may be eligible for certifications from other diving organizations - check with your Tec Sidemount PCB Instructor.

Sidemount Setup

You are eligible to take a Tec sidemount PCB diver course if you're at least 18 and have logged 30 dives. A PADI Enriched Water Diver certification is recommended.

Sidemount PCB Diving Training Courses are a great course for technical divers looking to get more familiar with different gear configurations. The course can be taught with any of TDI’s specialty courses in open-circuit, but only if all standards and prerequisites are met.

Sidemount PCB Essentials exceeded my expectations. Steve is a great teacher. He is patient and gives his time to all of his students. Every step is carefully planned. It was memorable and rewarding. Sidemount PCB Essentials Course has changed the way I dive. I was amazed at how quickly my awareness and skills levels under water increased. Everything is in place: the harness, the weight and position of the swimmers, the cylinder trim and the balance in the water. This allows you to feel confident and relaxed. Although the course was quite challenging, it was extremely enjoyable. Every day began with a planning session, followed by a video review on our drills in the sea. Every time we got in the water, we had to drain our cylinders. That's why our learning curve was so steep! All of it was done with exceptional professionalism in a safe and relaxed atmosphere. sidemountpcb.com's online training is essential for both recreational and technical divers. Although I had previously taken a Tec 40 /sidemount class before beginning my technical training with Joe, I consider that the start of my technical learning sidemount essentials. Joe was able focus on his in-water skills thanks to the online training. The beginning of my technical diving training was sidemount essentials. I completed a Tec40 /sidemount class in Florida before I began my training with Joe. Joe was able focus on the in water skills development through online training. This was the foundation of cave training and all other technical courses, such as trimix with Vas. The online training provides a great way to develop in-water skills and shows what divers can expect from good in-water training. My daughter, who is just starting out in diving, has already watched the backmount video before starting open water training. I am also reviewing the instructors videos to ensure that I am the best buddy' for her as she goes through the training process. These videos are essential for the safe development of recreational and technical divers. Daniel Glynn (father cave diver) reads less
