Sidemount PCB is a scuba diving equipment configuration which has diving cylinders mounted along the diver, below the shoulders and along the hips, instead of on the back of the diver. It began as a configuration popular with advanced cave divers, as smaller sections of cave can be penetrated and tanks can be changed with greater ease. The same benefits for operating in confined spaces were also recognised by divers who conducted technical wreck diving penetrations. We have well-trained instructors to teach scuba diving courses and scuba diving training in Thailand.

I teach PADI in Cyprus, and I took a few courses trying to master this type of diving that although came from cave diving, became very popular among recreational divers . But I found that only using your technique , I am certifying capable and confident sidemount divers , which , I know, will not be a nightmare for any dive boat and/or Dive guide by using up double the space and needing double the time to kit up. I also know that they will look streamlined underwater and be safe. And it is all due to your structured approach in explaining every aspect of sidemount diving , where configuration is crucial. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any instructor teaching sidemount! Thank you very much ! read less
I'm sure you get this all of the time, but I really do appreciate your online videos. I have used them to get my sidemount set up much better, and as an instructor, I have also been able to diagnose student issues and remedy them much more quickly. So, I want to thank you very much for that
We offer the TDI course as an option, although we can also teach the SDI course if asked. This course can be taken on its own, or with our Apprentice Cave Diver course.

Sidemounting is something I haven't tried before. However, from watching his video training online, I knew Steve was the best man to teach me this skill and give me confidence about it. I was not wrong! It was truly life-changing! Sidemount PCB Essentials was beyond my expectations. Steve is a great teacher. He is patient and gives a lot of his time. I was absolutely right! It was truly life-changing! Sidemount PCB Essentials was beyond my expectations. Steve is an excellent teacher. He's patient, hardworking and puts in a lot to every lesson he gives. Everything is planned and done with great attention to detail. It was an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. Sidemount PCB Essentials Course completely transformed my diving. In a matter of a few weeks, my awareness level and skills were higher than I could have ever imagined. Everything is in place: your harness set-up, your weight and position, the trim of the cylinder, and your overall balance in the water. This gives you the feeling of true sidemount setup, with no back pain and makes you feel more confident and relaxed. This course was difficult but enjoyable. Every day started with a planning and theoretical session. Each day ends with a video review and discussion about the drills we performed in the water. The learning curve was steepened because we had a tendency to drain our cylinders whenever we were in the water. All was handled with professionalism and in a comfortable, safe environment. Steve will make this course easy for you. Steve will help to make you a better diver! read less

Steve, I want to thank all sections of your online courses. It was worth the effort. I learned a lot more online than my brain could comprehend. Your videos are clearer than any book or other material. I'm going to be repeating the most important lessons in the water course. Regards Rafal
Additionally, the SDI Sidemount PCB Diver certification counts towards one specialty rating in order to be eligible for the SDI Advanced Diver Development program.
Love your vids Steve. I'm located in Nova Scotia Canada. In August, I received my tdi Sm certification. Your online course is a supplement to my training. It's been very helpful! Thank you!
Qualifying certifications from another diver training organization may also be available - ask your Tec Sidemount PCB Coach.
Certificate cards: These are issued only to those who have earned them. Certification is not guaranteed by simply taking part in a course. Multiple training agencies might offer certification cards for cave courses. C-cards usually cost about $30, depending on which agency you choose. Talk to your instructor for details.
You are eligible to take a Tec sidemount PCB diver course if you're at least 18 and have logged 30 dives. A PADI Enriched Water Diver certification is recommended.

What exactly is the Tec 40 Course? Your first step into technical diving is the PADI Tec 40 course. It is a fundamental level of decompression diving that allows you to dive with gas redundancy, higher Enriched Air mixes of up to 50%, decompression on EANX 50% for conservatism, and up to 10 minutes of decompression.
Tec divers can visit reefs and wrecks at depths well below the recreational limit of 40 meters/130 feet. They can explore underwater caves and other locations far beyond the reach of mainstream sport diving with specialized training.
