Scuba Dive Panama City Beach provides divers with varying levels of difficulty. You can have a great time with your family, friends, or on your own. You can feel the excitement of reaching exciting depths in well-selected locations.
All over the region are historic wrecks. Skin Diver Magazine has named Panama City Beach the wreck diving capital of the South because of these and other artificial corals.
Our threshold for offshore diving is more than 8 miles from St Andrew’s Pass. Due to the depths and the open water, these sites require advanced certification, and nitrox cert would be a good idea. Due to the distances involved, these trips don’t run every day. You’ll want to check with the dive shop to see when the next trip is running, or plan a trip with your well-qualified friends, and they might be able to put one on the schedule for you.

Scuba Dive Panama City Beach keeps dive trips to 14 divers. This is to ensure everyone's comfort and safety. If we have space, any of our charters will be open to the public. We generally run 2 trips per week during the season.
The Black Bart is an 180-foot vessel that was used as an artificial reef in 1993. Vulcano del Golfo was named in 1977 in honor of Charles' Black Bart' Bartholomew (Navy Supervisor of Salvage Captain), who drowned while diving off Panama City Beach, in 1990. His achievements include leading the Navy's cleanup after the Exxon Valdez oil leak.
St Andrew's Park's snow-white sugar sand and Shell Island's are stunning. There are many dolphin cruises available. For land lovers, there are attractions such as Pier Park, Shipwreck Island and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. You'll also find the finest fresh seafood (the Firefly she-crab soup is one of our favorites!). Golden sunsets over turquoise blue waters.
The Black Bart is a 180-foot boat that was built as an artificial coral reef. Vulcano del Golfo was established in 1977 to honor Charles' Black Bart Bartholomew who was Navy Supervisor of Salvage Capt. Bartholomew died while diving off Panama City Beach on September 30, 1990. His feats include leading the Navy in the cleanup of Exxon Valdez's oil spillage.
Never hold your breath
As every good entry-level dive student knows, this is the most important rule of scuba. And for good reason — breath holding underwater can result in serious injury and even death. In accordance with Boyle's law, the air in a diver's lungs expands during ascent and contracts during descent.
As you become a qualified scuba diver, you learn the basics of an essential scuba system. A cylinder, weights, an exposure suit, regulators, BCD gauge and timing device, mask and fins are the bare essentials.
