As the Delta 28-4400 is made with a strong steel frame, vibrations are minimal.

First, drill a hole through the wood. Then you would thread your blade up through that hole. From there, you can start your cutting.

Most bandsaw blades have a width of between 1/8 inch and 1/2 inch. You can also find larger blades to fit larger bandsaws.

While using a bandsaw, or any other powered saw, drill press, planer, do not wear gloves. Gloves will not protect your hands and give you a false sense security. If the material is caught, the gloves could actually cause your fingers to be pulled into the blade.

Kickback is virtually non-existent, but the motion of the blade tends not to push the work-piece against its worktable. Don't push too hard. Pushing too hard will cause the blade to move to one side or another, creating an irregular cut.

To stabilize the cut, use the back of your blade. Bandsaw blades leave a rough trail. You can smoothen the surface by gently twisting the workpiece until the back of your blade runs along one side.

There are two types available on the market: the vertical and horizontal bandsaws. Band saws are common in machine shops and do not require any special skills.
