What are the 4 types of beams

Cnc Beam Drill Line Flow

The CNC Drill Line can not only process columns and beams, but also all steel profiles, including channel, angle and flat bars, base plates, RHS square and round.

".. This machine is intended for structural fabricators. However, I was able to see that it would be a good fit for drilling truck frames. Assembly was easy because of the repeatability and accuracy. Avenger drills the channels for one truck in two hours. If we were to do this manually it would take 16 hours. The Avenger has greatly increased our productivity and profitability !.."

Z-Reader Probe-The Z-Reader Probe is a device that maps the location of the surface. It can be programmed or manually controlled. It can be disabled while cutting, and it can be pulled out of harm's reach. It can be activated to verify the surface at each pierce prior to cutting, or to drive surface mapping for the entire part before cutting begins. It is used to initialize or zero the device to the desired surface and then tracks or accumulates the difference between that zeroing effort.

Your operator will be trained in Peddimat. You might have customers who bring a couple of pieces with them.

It is no good having a CNC drilling machine if it doesn’t enable a fabricator compete at the top of the steel fabrication field. Advantage-2 allows you to process technical programmes with speed and intelligence. Each drilling axis includes three five-station tool changers. Each can drill, countersink and tap as well. Signomat underside scribers or part stamping units are also possible to be fitted to this drill-line. Part information is kept even after blasting, painting and galvanizing. Minimizing shop errors? Check. Advantage-2 drills more aggressively and produces more holes than any other line of drilling. High torque drilling axes have thicker, more aggressive cuts that extract more chips with each turn. This drill line can eat through beams as well channel, angle and tube. Advantage-2 is able to process any profile up to 44 inches wide x 18 inches tall.

When deciding which CNC machinery you want to purchase, it may come between a Vertical Machining Center or a CNC router. You can use these two different pieces of equipment for many reasons for various things. Which one should...

Powered by 25 HP (18.5 kW) Siemens spindle motors, the Advantage-2 is outfitted with 3 drill spindles, each equipped with 5-station tool changers. This powerful drilling technology allows for maximized operating time and drill hole quality.

Material handling allows multiple CNC machines to be connected and maintains material flow through a shop. This allows fabricators the opportunity to continue growing as their business grows. Only the Advantage-2 high-speed drilling line can produce 150 tons of metal per 40-hour working week. This is the perfect drill line for small and large fabricators worldwide. Complete stop. Voortman puts the success and well-being of the steel sector as his top priority. This is why we offer unsurpassed support and service. For more information about the most difficult steel fabrication machinery worldwide, contact us to request a demo. Voortman, we are stronger than any steel.

CNC Drill Line not only processes beams and columns but can also easily process all steel profile including channel, flat, flat, base plates RHS, square and round.

The programming of the CNC Drill Line can be done even manually. Peddimat is the machine programming software and most operators can program most parts within less than an hour. Of course practice makes perfect. The best way to program the machine, however, is to import parts from a CAD drawing, preferably created in 3-D modeling software like ProSteel 3D or StruMis. These files can be imported directly into the machine. The operator simply selects the part and presses the Cycle Start button.

Our beam drill machines have central lubrication, a cooling system, and linear guides to make them easier to use and require less maintenance. Each coordinate system includes a 4 station tool changer. This allows it drill, mill/scribe, counter sink or tap as many times as required. Additionally, tools can be swapped easily during operation. Positive beam positioning is an arm that attaches to a rack on the conveyor. This allows the beam position to be more precisely controlled as it moves through a drill line.

Based on the current pricing of the different suppliers, we believe the customer is better off getting good quality Ocean Penetrator twist drilling bits and a sharpener.

Automatic Edge Finder - The edgefinder can be used manual (Jogging Method and Screen Buttons), programmatically using M &G codes or fully automated with a dedicated program. This option sets offsets and rotates the program to match location and orientation on the cutting surface.

The UNIST MQL coolant system has been the standard equipment on the Aveger FORTY and Avenger PLUS. This oil-based coolant promotes longer tool lives. It is not toxic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Manufacturers limit beams to 60 feet due to transport issues. Others can make beams up to 80 feet long. The longest supported span using LVL is 80 feet. It is normal for continuous LVL spans to be between 20'-30'.

Horizontal Beams are the most commonly used structural members. They are usually horizontal, but they can be oriented in any direction. Beams are large horizontal members which carry floor loads from floors, walls or roofs to columns or foundation walls.

Size of an LVL beam for a 20-foot span: As a general rule, a GLULAM or LVL should measure 10-12 inches in depth and 3 inches in width for a span of 20 feet. This means that a GLULAM or 10-12 inch GLULAM is required for residential buildings or projects.

You will need at least 4-2x16 or 8x16 wood beams to span 20 feet. A 4 nailed 2x16, 4-2x16, or 8x16 wood beam will allow you to span 20 feet.

According to the International Residential Building Code (IRC), 2021, a common 6x6 softwood beam span is 3'-5" to 7'-6". The wood's strength and other variables affect how long the span. While hardwood of similar dimensions will span more than steel, the cost difference can be substantial.
