Beam Layout Welding Gantry

How thick can a 180 amp MIG weld

The TS-72 tack-up station offers hydraulic clamping which pre-fixes the leading edge of the prefabricated beans. Franklin 40 Series CNC Gantry allows for automated pick-and-place loading of finished Flanges using the Franklin CNC Falange Line System. Franklin "60" Series Gantries offer up to 60 feet of length and 75 feet of travel storage.

Beam Layout Welding can be downloaded remotely from any connected PC or network. It includes a one day data logger to record the machine's operations. This option allows for beams of maximum size 84" rather than the standard 72". All elements are modified to accommodate larger web size.

The tacking fixture will be used to assemble beams prior to the MainWelder. The web, flanges and seam welder are taken to the tacking fixtures. You can either manually load the flanges from the conveyors by an operator, or you can use the PHI's automatic flange-loading Gantry.

Clamps are released, and web is transmitted to the tacking device. Welding equipment is composed of a welding head and flux hopper, travel carriage with controls, and a 1,000 Amp electrical power source. Full-color projection systems with lasers can project all necessary information to enable operators to precisely tack-weld connections either on the beam of other connections.

Beam Layout Welding and Fabrication

The Beam Layout Welding offers maximum system control flexibility through the Electrical Control Panel. The welder can be used in either Automatic or Manual mode. Manual Mode allows you to control the sequence of the operations using the controls on the control panels. Every welding head controller allows you to customize the parameters of your welding operation.

The walking beams, columns and the upper platform form the gantry frame. The motor reducer drives each of the walking beams, creating a double-drive system that makes operation easy and reliable. Rails and racks are located on the platform's front. They can be used for welding arms or tool carriages to move. Two sets of flux and wire recovery machines can also be placed on the platform.

Piping

An average Beam Layout Welding System has 18 conveyor sections. Six of these sections are motorized and drive the rollers using sprockets or chains. Ten motorized sections are connected by chains to the adjacent motorized sections. Two of them are inactive.

Frequently Asked Questions

A welded beam consists of three individual sections of steel – a web, a top flange and a bottom flange. These segments are merged together with deep fillet welds to create an incredibly robust building material.
